今天分享初中水平的《木兰辞》英文版.
和其他版本翻译不同的是,
这个版本使用的是初中水平的英文单词和语法,
让学生更容易理解.
先上提示词:

比如中考语文必须背诵的古文,可以用中考英文考试的词汇和语法改编成英文故事.

唧唧复唧唧，木兰当户织。不闻机杼声，唯闻女叹息。
问女何所思，问女何所忆。女亦无所思，女亦无所忆。昨夜见军帖，可汗大点兵，军书十二卷，卷卷有爷名。阿爷无大儿，木兰无长兄，愿为市鞍马，从此替爷征。
东市买骏马，西市买鞍鞯，南市买辔头，北市买长鞭。旦辞爷娘去，暮宿黄河边，不闻爷娘唤女声，但闻黄河流水鸣溅溅。旦辞黄河去，暮至黑山头，不闻爷娘唤女声，但闻燕山胡骑鸣啾啾。
万里赴戎机，关山度若飞。朔气传金柝，寒光照铁衣。将军百战死，壮士十年归。
归来见天子，天子坐明堂。策勋十二转，赏赐百千强。可汗问所欲，木兰不用尚书郎，愿驰千里足，送儿还故乡。

The Brave Girl Mulan
Long ago in ancient China, there was a girl named Mulan. One day, she was sitting at home weaving cloth, but she looked very sad. Her mother asked, “What’s wrong, Mulan? What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing, mother,” Mulan replied. But actually, she was worried about the military order she saw yesterday. The Emperor needed soldiers for the army, and her father’s name was on the list. Her father was too old to fight, and she had no older brother to take his place.
“I will go to war for my father,” Mulan made her decision. She went to different markets to buy what she needed:
A strong horse from the east market
A saddle from the west market
Some reins from the south market
A long whip from the north market
Early the next morning, Mulan said goodbye to her parents. By evening, she arrived at the Yellow River. She couldn’t hear her parents’ voices anymore, only the sound of the rushing water. The next day, she traveled to the Black Mountain in the north, where she could hear the sounds of horses and soldiers.
For ten years, Mulan fought bravely in many battles. She was clever and strong, and nobody knew she was a girl. When the war was over, the Emperor wanted to give her an important job in the government. But Mulan only wanted to return home to her family.
When she finally got home:
Her parents ran outside the city gate to welcome her
Her sister quickly put on her best makeup
Her little brother happily prepared to cook a special meal
Mulan changed out of her soldier’s uniform and put on her old dress. She did her hair by the window and put on some makeup in front of the mirror. Later, when she met her fellow soldiers, they were very surprised. “We fought together for twelve years,” they said, “but we never knew you were a girl!”
Mulan smiled and said, “When two rabbits run side by side, can you tell which is male and which is female?”
